Poppy KUB is a filly by High Five out of the Verdi mare Cairobi. Poppy KUB was foaled on June 17, 2020.

About the Sire Line

Poppy KUB is by High Five, a young stallion by Vigo D’Arsouilles and out of a Manhattan mother.

Vigo D’Arsouilles is a son of Nabab de Rêve and out of Fleury du Manoir. World Champion showjumper himself by one of the world’s best stallions, Vigo D’Arsouilles is one of the new rising stars of European breeding.Vigo D’Arsouilles produces new international winners every year, amongst them : Ego Van Orti, Dixson, Donatella-N, Sterrehof’s Ushi, Super Trooper de Ness..

In 2010, Vigo d’Arsouilles won the gold medal at the World Equestrian Games in Kentucky, under his regular rider Philippe Lejeune and made a significant contribution to the surprise team bronze medal victory. Incidentally, one of Lejeune’s past international show jumpers was Vigo d’Arsouilles’ sire Nabab de Rêve. A well-developed  horse out of a strong dam-line, Vigo d’Arsouilles is SBS-approved and KWPN-recognized. His son Bernini was approved by the KWPN with very high scores in the jumping components of the performance test.

Vigo d’Arsouilles and Lejeune were regulars on the Belgian show jumping team, and they have placed high in various Grand Prix and Nations Cup competitions. Furthermore, the talented jumper was crowned Belgium’s Horse of the Year in 2008. In 2010, he was awarded the title again; and in 2011, he was declared BWP Ambassador.

About the Dam Line
Poppy KUB’s dam Cairobi had an injury as a young jumper and has had 4 foals. Cairobi is by Verdi TN and out Nairobi by Epilot .  Nairobi Produced one horse to jump 1.45.

Cairobi’s Sire Verdi was bred out of the famous Holsteiner damline 747a, which also produced Calato, VDL Bubalu, Vingino and many more world-class showjumpers and stallions.  VDL Groep Verdi TN N.O.P. is the best example of sport and breeding going hand in hand. For years, Verdi combines his career as a sire with a sports career at the very highest level. Verdi and his rider Maikel van der Vleuten competed at five major championship in a row (!): European Championships in Madrid 2011, Olympic Games in London 2012, European Championships in Herning 2013, World Equestrian Games in Caen 2014 and European Championship in Aachen 2015. In addition, Verdi took part in no less than three World Cup Finals, in which he finished twice as 6th and once as 7th!

Besides his own performances, Verdi’s pedigree is also outstanding. Sire Quidam de Revel is one of the most influential sires of the past decades and the same goes for Verdi’s legendary grandsire Landgraf I. It does not come as a surprise that Verdi is developing into a true foundation sire himself. From his first crops of offspring, one after another jumps at Grand Prix level and although his oldest progeny is only 10 years old, over 80 offspring by Verdi jump at 1.40m level or higher. In addition, his sons Farmgraaf and First Verdi were approved by the KWPN and Verdi produced numerous champions at KWPN Mare Shows
